Hungry people found the phone number and nothing else — the menu lived on a photo. Rebuilt the menu as real, readable structure so both people and answer engines can quote it.

+32%online orders

Mr Wings is a Kenosha restaurant with real demand and real food. What it did not have was a website that any search engine — traditional or AI — could actually read.

The specific problem was the menu. It lived as a flattened image, which means every item, every price, and every option was invisible to search. Hours sat inside a caption. Ordering meant calling during the dinner rush, which is exactly when nobody can answer the phone.

We rebuilt the site around structured content. Every menu item became text. Prices were marked up as data. Hours, address, and service options were expressed as schema an answer engine can parse, not styling a human has to squint at. Ordering moved to a single, thumb-sized action that follows you down the page on a phone.

The mobile experience was designed for the moment it is actually used — someone hungry, walking, deciding fast. The desktop experience does the trust work: photography, story, and the full menu laid out for someone planning a group order from a desk.

Online orders rose 32% after launch. Just as importantly, the menu now surfaces directly in local and AI-assisted results. When someone asks an assistant what wing places nearby serve or what they charge, there is now a readable answer with the restaurant's name attached to it.

That is the part most restaurant sites still get wrong: a menu inside an image is not a menu as far as the internet is concerned. Making it text was not a design choice, it was the whole strategy.

For AI search the menu is the whole asset. An assistant asked which nearby restaurant serves boneless wings, or what a ten-piece costs, can only answer from text and structured data. Once the items and prices became readable, the restaurant became quotable — and being quoted in the answer is now worth more than sitting seventh in a list of links.

Any restaurant can copy this without redesigning anything. Take the menu out of the image, mark up the prices, express hours and service options as data, and put a single ordering action within thumb reach on mobile. That sequence, in that order, is where the measurable change came from here.

The rebuild also fixed the quiet things that decide whether a restaurant page gets crawled often. Photography was compressed to modern formats so the menu opens instantly on a phone in a parking lot, headings run in real order so the structure is unambiguous, and the address and phone number appear as consistent text sitewide rather than in three slightly different formats — the sort of consistency local search quietly rewards.
