Put your menu on one page of your website as real text with prices, organized by category, and keep it updated the day anything changes. A photo or PDF of the menu is invisible to most of the machines that answer customer questions. The steps below take an afternoon.
1. Create one menu page in text, with prices
One page, every item, every price, as ordinary text. This single page is what Google and the assistants will read, quote and link to.
2. Organize it into sections by category
Starters, mains, desserts, drinks, or however your kitchen thinks about it. Sections help people scan and help machines understand what kind of food you serve.
3. Add dietary and allergen tags
Mark vegan, gluten-free and common allergens next to each item. These are some of the most-asked questions assistants get about restaurants, and a tagged menu can answer them.
4. Put your hours and ordering link near the top
The two things most visitors want are whether you are open and how to order. Both belong above the first section of the menu, as text and a link.
5. Add Menu schema
Structured data with hasMenu, MenuSection and MenuItem with offers turns your menu into facts machines can quote. Your developer or website plan can add it; every Sunlift build includes it.
6. Replace PDF menus with text, or duplicate them as text
A PDF is fine for printing and nearly useless for search. Keep the PDF for download if you like, but make the text page the one you link to.
7. Update the page the same day your prices change
An assistant quoting last year's prices costs you a trust moment at the table. Same-day updates keep the page, the schema and the answers consistent.
8. Link the menu page from your Google Business Profile
Your profile's menu link should point at the text page, not a PDF or a third-party listing. That connection is how the facts travel between Google and your site.
Every Sunlift restaurant build ships this way: a text menu with prices, Menu schema, and same-day updates included in the plan. The free preview shows your menu rebuilt this way before you pay anything.
